South African (and Other) Wild Flowers

In August and September 2016 and again in 2018 I travelled with my husband six thousand miles to witness a breathtaking floral display during the flower season in the West Coast National Park in South Africa. Nothing could have prepared us for the magical display we were about to experience. It was an explosion of Spring brilliance with flowers of every type and colour  bursting out radiantly in the South African sunshine.

I had my inspiration!

Visions I have longed to see throughout the 28 years we have been frequently travelling to South Africa, our second home - one could say the most beautiful country in the world!

These images are my first paintings of this floral extravaganza.
